Do you experience gut issues?
Do you have sensitivities to foods you once used to be able to indulge in?
Have you ever experienced exhaustion after a big meal?
You might be suffering from a silent problem – a common monster in the closet known as leaky gut syndrome.
What is Leaky Gut Syndrome?
Leaky gut syndrome has shown in research to contribute to the development of digestive disorders, food sensitivities, autoimmune disorders and more! The disorder occurs as a result of the intestinal tight junctions – the “glue” that holds your intestinal cells together – being damaged, pried apart, or not holding intestinal cells together quite as tightly as they’re supposed to.
Unfortunately, leaky gut syndrome can begin as somewhat of a silent problem. This means that even though leaky gut can be present, you may not necessarily experience the extreme symptoms which prompt people to take action. Therefore, many people possess leaky gut without even realizing it, and the syndrome continues to worsen until more severe symptoms begin to appear and the gut reached a further point of damage, making it more difficult to repair.
Leaky Gut Syndrome Symptoms
It can be very tricky to recognize leaky gut syndrome, mostly because some people may experience symptoms from the get-go, whereas others might not. A few early warning signs that you can look for include digestive discomfort, food sensitivities, acne, mood issues, fatigue – and even feeling the common “food coma” after meals!
With all of those symptoms to consider, I bet you must be thinking that the body is a vastly complex machine…Well, you’re more than right! Despite the fact that our biology has provided us with an amazing capacity to fight off diseases and illnesses, our modern lifestyles and poor diet choices are still influencing our gut health and overall well-being, and paying huge contributions to the development of leaky gut syndrome.
I mean, we all eat both good and bad foods, but have you ever actually wondered what happens after you eat a meal? What happens to the food itself, where do harmful substances and chemicals go, and how does your body decide what to take in and what to send moving along and out the other end?
By the end of the above video, you’ll have the answer to all of these questions and more! I’ll fill you guys in on exactly what happens after you eat a meal – where the nutrients and negatives go, what role the gut plays and, of course, how this mechanism is impacted by leaky gut syndrome.
So now that you have a brief introduction to this invisible illness, the big question is… How can we fight what we can’t see?
Don’t worry! You’ve got a scientist on your side and, as always, I’ve got you covered!
